Background on Recent Raids

The food safety commissionerate conducted a major crackdown on expired food products in Jaipur. During this operation, authorities seized and destroyed approximately 150,000 kg of expired food items, including noodles, ketchup, mayonnaise, and energy drinks. The warehouse from which these products were taken operated under suspicious conditions, having an expired food license.

Developments in Arunachal Pradesh

In a separate incident in Arunachal Pradesh, police intercepted 26 grams of heroin with a street value of Rs 1.37 lakh. This seizure occurred during a police raid, where the narcotics were recovered from a sling bag possessed by a suspect.

Fake Raid Incident in New Delhi

Additionally, two individuals were arrested for staging a fake Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid in New Friends Colony, New Delhi. These suspects coerced family members and confiscated mobile devices, escaping with approximately ₹3-4 lakh and seven luxury watches.

Police Investigations

The police traced the suspects’ route using over 350 CCTV feeds, leading to their eventual arrest. During the investigation, authorities recovered an ITBP Dy Commandant uniform and a fake ID card from the suspects.

Next Steps

Following the raids, the food safety team collected samples, seized stock, machines, and sealed the premises in Jaipur. A case has been registered against the accused under Section 21 (b) of the NDPS Act, 1985 regarding the drug seizure. Observers expect ongoing investigations into both the expired food products and the fake raid incidents.
