In a significant development for the Indian transportation sector, Indian Railways is enhancing its connectivity across the nation with nearly 25,000 trains running daily. As part of its ongoing transformation, Indian Railways achieved a remarkable milestone in freight transportation, loading 1,670 million tonnes in the fiscal year 2025-26. In addition to improving passenger services, Indian Railways has ramped up its production capabilities, having produced over 1,500 locomotives and more than 6,600 LHB coaches. The optical fibre project will cover 1,929 route kilometres and is a component of a larger national plan valued at ₹27,693 crore. This investment aims to modernize railway communication systems, ensuring that Indian Railways can leverage technology to improve service delivery.
