The screening for the film Jana Nayagan by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was scheduled for March 9, 2026, at 2 pm. However, the review has been postponed due to a committee member falling ill, resulting in an indefinite delay of the review process.

Earlier, a member of the original committee filed a formal complaint concerning the film’s depiction of religious sentiments and armed forces logos. Following this complaint, the CBFC chairman directed the film to a revising committee for further scrutiny.
The filmmakers had previously submitted a letter to the Madras High Court registry seeking to withdraw their legal case against the CBFC. This ongoing review process has resulted in the film remaining unreleased for several months, drawing attention within the industry and among fans.
Speculation suggests that the film may be scheduled for re-release in June 2026, although no official confirmation regarding the re-release date has been provided by the makers. Details remain unconfirmed.
