Park Jin-young Resigns from JYP Entertainment
“Park Jin-young will not go through the process of reappointment as an inside director at the general shareholders’ meeting on March 26,” JYP Entertainment announced.
After 15 years in the role, Park Jin-young has decided to step down from his position as an in-house director of JYP Entertainment. He has served as a registered inside director since 2011, significantly influencing the K-pop industry during his tenure.
Park Jin-young, who founded JYP Entertainment in 1997, has been a pivotal figure in the music industry since his debut in 1994. His contributions as a composer and producer have shaped the careers of numerous artists.
In a statement, JYP Entertainment shared that “Jinyoung Park will focus on creative activities as an artist, nurturing junior talent, and external work related to the K-pop industry.” This shift marks a new chapter for Park, who will retain his position as Chief Creative Officer (CCO).

Stray Kids, one of JYP’s prominent groups, grossed $76.2 million during their North American tour, attracting 491,000 audience members. This achievement highlights the growing influence of JYP Entertainment in the global music scene.
Park Jin-young’s leadership has been instrumental in establishing JYP Entertainment as a powerhouse in K-pop. He was also recently named co-chairman of the Popular Culture Exchange Committee under President Lee Jae-myung, further emphasizing his role in the industry.
