For the last two years, over 20 lakh students have been registering for the NEET UG exam, which serves as the sole entrance test for undergraduate medical courses in India. In a significant development, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the exam city intimation slips for NEET UG 2026, scheduled to take place on May 3, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Candidates can check and download their examination city intimation slip from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, using their application number and date of birth. It is important to note that the city intimation slip is not the admit card for NEET UG 2026. The official admit card will be released three to four days before the exam.

The release of the city intimation slip is a crucial step for candidates as it allows them to plan their travel and accommodation ahead of the examination. As stated by an NTA official, “This is not the admit card for NEET UG 2026. It is only an advance intimation regarding the city where your examination centre will be located.”

In 2024, a record 24,06,079 candidates registered for NEET UG, while in 2023, the number was 20,87,462, and in 2022, it stood at 18,72,343. The increasing number of registrations highlights the growing competition among students aspiring for medical careers in India.

The NEET UG 2026 exam will consist of 180 compulsory questions, including 45 questions each in physics and chemistry, and 90 questions in biology. This structure remains consistent with previous years, ensuring that candidates are well-prepared for the challenges ahead.
