“Even though [they] have one goal at the beginning of the season, to find One Piece [and] achieve [their] dreams, as [they] start to learn the bigger dangers that are out there, our characters end the season with a new goal — get to Alabasta and fight for it,” said Joe Tracz, the showrunner for One Piece Season 2.
Season 2, titled “Into the Grand Line,” premiered on Netflix and follows the Straw Hat crew as they embark on their journey through the Grand Line in search of the elusive One Piece treasure. Tracz elaborated on the complexities of the characters, stating, “When you are undercover like Vivi is as Miss Wednesday, it’s an incredibly lonely life. Operation Utopia, a plot involving Baroque Works, threatens Alabasta, further complicating the Straw Hats’ mission. The stakes are higher than ever as they strive to protect their newfound friends and allies.
