The recent exclusion of School of Open Learning (SOL) students from a job fair organized by Delhi University has sparked significant protests and raised concerns about discrimination among student communities. ABVP echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing that denying SOL students participation in the job fair was discriminatory and against students’ interests. The protests underscored a recurring issue, as this is not the first time SOL students have faced exclusion from university-led events.
Following the resolution, the university committed to preventing similar exclusions in the future, a move welcomed by student representatives. KYS noted, “It has been conceded that in the future, SOL students will not be barred from any such programme.” This commitment aims to foster a more inclusive environment for all students within the university.
