Key Developments in SSC CGL 2025

As the SSC CGL 2025 progresses, candidates are now entering a critical phase of the selection process. The post preference window opened on March 9, 2026, providing candidates with the opportunity to select their preferred posts.

This window will remain active until March 12, 2026, at 6:00 PM. It is essential for candidates to submit their preferences during this period to be included in the final merit list.

A total of 15,130 vacancies have been announced for SSC CGL 2025, with specific allocations for various categories. For instance, there are 6,464 vacancies for the Unreserved Category, 3,834 for OBC, 2,223 for SC, 1,134 for ST, and 1,475 for the Minority Category.

Candidates can log in to the official website www.ssc.gov.in to submit their preferences. It is important to note that candidates can change their preferences multiple times before the deadline.

Those who do not submit their post preference will not be considered for final selection, making this step crucial for all candidates. Additionally, candidates belonging to the PwBD category must choose posts that are suitable for their disability.

The SSC CGL 2025 has been conducted in multiple stages, with the Tier-I examination result declared on December 18, 2025. Following this, the Tier-II examination took place from January 18 to January 20, 2026.

Moreover, candidates must meet the physical and medical standards required for the posts they select, ensuring that all applicants are fit for the roles they aspire to fill.

The final allotment of posts will be made on a merit-cum-preference basis, underscoring the importance of both performance in the examinations and the choices made during this preference window.

As the deadline approaches, candidates are urged to finalize their preferences carefully, as this will significantly impact their chances of securing a position in the desired role.

With the post preference window now open, candidates are advised to act promptly and ensure their submissions are completed before the cutoff date.
