AIIMS Mangalagiri has made significant strides in medical education and healthcare services since its inception. The institution began its MBBS program in 2018 with an initial intake of 50 students. Today, it boasts a total of 748 MBBS students, with an annual intake of 125 students. Recently, AIIMS Mangalagiri conferred degrees on 49 MBBS graduates, five MD/MS postgraduate students, and four Post-Doctoral Certificate Course students.

In addition to its educational achievements, AIIMS Mangalagiri has completed an impressive 31 lakh outpatient department (OPD) consultations, with a current daily footfall of around 3,500 to 4,000 patients. This underscores the institution’s vital role in addressing the healthcare needs of the community.

Recently, AIIMS Mangalagiri installed a Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing (NAAT) system, which is the first of its kind among all AIIMS in South India. This advanced system, which cost approximately ₹1.73 crore, significantly enhances the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities. It can detect viral RNA/DNA with high sensitivity, enabling early identification of infections such as HIV, Hepatitis B, and Hepatitis C.

Ahanthem Singh, a representative from the institution, commented on the importance of the NAAT system, stating, “The NAAT system enhances safety by significantly reducing the diagnostic window period.” This advancement is expected to improve patient outcomes and contribute to the overall safety of medical procedures.

Union Minister Anupriya Patel highlighted the government’s commitment to improving healthcare, stating, “The Union government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving utmost priority to the medical sector.” This reflects a broader initiative to enhance healthcare access and quality for the population.
