<p><strong>&#8220;Deeply regret to inform that Producer/Director/Composer Thakkali Srinivasan passed away due to health complications in Bengaluru,&#8221;</strong> said Nikil Murukan, confirming the news of the filmmaker&#8217;s passing on March 10, 2026.</p>
<p>Thakkali Srinivasan, who was 72 years old at the time of his death, was a significant figure in Tamil cinema. He began his career as a producer with the film <em>Ivargal Varungala Thoongal</em> in 1987 and went on to produce several landmark films, including <em>Manasukul Mathappu</em>, <em>Nalaya Manithan</em>, and <em>Witness</em>.</p>
<p>In addition to his work as a producer, Srinivasan was also known for his roles as a director and composer. He directed and composed music for <em>Jenma Natchathiram</em>, a remake of the famous horror film <em>The Omen</em>, and played the antagonist in the Kamal Hassan-starrer <em>Soora Samharam</em>.</p>
<p>Throughout his career, he was recognized for his contributions to the film industry and was involved in philanthropy during his later years. He ran an ashram and lived with his adopted children, reflecting his commitment to social causes.</p>
