The petition specifically requests that FIFA review the performance of Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić, who officiated the final held at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
The petition describes Vinčić’s performance as “controversial and corrupt” and urges FIFA to investigate several key decisions made during the match. It states that the final was “tarnished by the controversial and corrupt performance of the referee” and suggests that such incidents, if left unaddressed, could set a negative precedent for future generations in sports. The petition’s objective is for FIFA to seriously and transparently review these incidents and consider replaying the final without the influence of a corrupt referee.
Despite these claims, the petition does not offer independently verified evidence to substantiate its allegations, beyond videos circulating on social media that the organiser claims favor Spain. Spain secured their second men’s World Cup title with a 1-0 victory over Argentina in extra time, with Ferran Torres scoring the decisive goal in the 106th minute.

Away from these online debates, thousands of Argentina supporters gathered across the country to welcome their team home, acknowledging their achievement in reaching a second consecutive World Cup final.
