Noida International Airport is set to become a major gateway for passengers and cargo in North India, with commercial flight operations starting on June 15, 2026. The airport aims to enhance connectivity between the greater Delhi area and Western Uttar Pradesh with other cities in India and beyond.

The first phase of development has seen an investment of approximately ₹11,200 crore. Initially, the airport will have a passenger handling capacity of 12 million passengers per annum, which can expand to 70 million upon full development. IndiGo has announced it will operate the inaugural flight.

This project stands out as one of the largest greenfield airport initiatives in India. The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security has approved the Aerodrome Security Programme, ensuring that safety measures are in place as the airport prepares to launch.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the airport, highlighting its significance for regional growth and infrastructure improvement. Observers expect that this facility will not only facilitate air travel but also boost economic activities in the region.

With its strategic location, Noida International Airport is poised to transform air travel dynamics in North India. The Public-Private Partnership model employed for its construction may serve as a template for future infrastructure projects across the country.
