Akansha Ranjan Kapoor recently shared her candid experience of undergoing egg freezing at the age of 32, which took place in March 2026. She emphasized the importance of taking proactive steps in reproductive health, especially as she witnessed many peers facing challenges with pregnancy.
During her appearance on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, All About Her, Akansha revealed that her AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone) level was low for her age. This diagnosis prompted her to act sooner rather than later.
The procedure itself was physically taxing. Akansha described experiencing significant pain and discomfort afterward, stating, “I couldn’t walk for 2–3 days… I was in so much pain.” She likened the sensation to having a large balloon inside her.
Despite the difficulties she faced, Akansha received positive support from those around her regarding her decision to freeze her eggs. The emotional and physical challenges made the process daunting but also necessary for her future.
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed a desire to have frozen her eggs earlier—ideally in her early or mid-twenties. She referred to egg freezing as a form of insurance for her future self.
Akansha’s experience sheds light on the broader conversation surrounding female health and reproductive choices. Many women may find themselves considering similar procedures as they navigate their own timelines concerning family planning.
