cbse exam, class 12 — IN news

The introduction of On-Screen Marking for the first time in CBSE Class 12 examinations marks a significant shift in the evaluation process. Scheduled for release around May 10, 2026, the results will reflect a modernized approach to grading that aims to speed up result compilation.

Historically, CBSE Class 12 results have been announced in mid-May, with a consistent pattern observed over previous years. The board examinations for this year took place from February 17 to April 10, 2026. Students must achieve a minimum of 33% marks in each theory paper and in the combined total across all subjects to pass.

The phased evaluation process commenced after the conclusion of the exams. Sanyam Bhardwaj, an official from CBSE, stated that the On-Screen Marking system is functioning “perfectly” and remains on schedule. He also dismissed reports suggesting disruptions in the digital evaluation system as “far away from facts.”

In 2025, over 16.9 lakh students participated in the Class 12 examinations, achieving an overall pass percentage of 88.39%. This year’s implementation of digital marking aims to further streamline the grading process and enhance accuracy.

Students can access their results on the official website results.cbse.nic.in. The introduction of this digital marking system signifies a pivotal change in how evaluations are conducted, reflecting broader trends towards digitization in education.

The next steps involve completing the evaluation process efficiently to meet the expected timeline for result announcements. Observers anticipate that this modernization will not only improve turnaround times but also provide a more transparent assessment framework for students.
