mht cet — IN news

The introduction of a second attempt for MHT CET represents a significant shift in the examination process, providing 4,92,383 students with an additional opportunity to improve their scores. This new approach will be implemented starting May 9, 2026.

The second attempt will coincide with the MBA/MMS CET, also scheduled for May 9, which will see 53,931 candidates participating. Following this, the PCB group exam will take place on May 10 and 11 for 1,16,538 students, while the PCM group exam is set from May 12 to May 21, excluding May 16 and 17, involving 3,21,914 candidates.

This year is notable as it marks the first time the CET Cell has introduced two attempts for these entrance exams. In the first attempt alone, 8,96,236 students registered and 8,33,482 appeared for the examination, achieving an impressive attendance rate of 92.99%.

Key details regarding the examination process include:

  • The official release of the MHT CET 2026 Answer Key Session 1 is expected by May 2.
  • Candidates can download the answer key and response sheet from cetcell.mahacet.org.
  • A score of 100 marks in MHT CET is anticipated to correspond to a percentile range of around 88 to 92 for PCM and 85 to 90 for PCB.

The higher percentile score will be considered for admissions if candidates choose to appear for both attempts. This new policy aims to enhance fairness and accessibility in the admission process.

The CET Cell has confirmed that the MBA answer keys will also be available on May 2. Candidates are encouraged to prepare thoroughly for both attempts as they navigate this new structure.
