The NTA has implemented a strict dress code for candidates appearing in NEET UG 2026, scheduled for May 3, to enhance the fairness and security of the examination process.
The advisory includes specific guidelines regarding acceptable attire. Candidates are encouraged to wear light clothing to facilitate proper frisking. Full sleeves and woollen garments are permitted if necessary, but candidates must arrive early for security checks.
Footwear regulations stipulate that slippers and low-heeled sandals are preferred. Additionally, candidates may carry transparent water bottles into the examination hall.
However, heavy, layered, or thick fabric clothing is discouraged. Metal items such as buttons, zips, chains, or accessories are not allowed. Hoodies, jackets, or full-sleeve T-shirts also fall under prohibited attire.
Articles or objects of faith can be brought into the exam venue but require mandatory reporting and inspection. The NTA has emphasized that compliance with these guidelines is necessary to maintain order during the exam.
For any clarifications regarding the exam day instructions, candidates can reach out to the NTA helpline at either 011-40759000 or 011-69227700.
The NTA has urged all candidates to adhere to these instructions and cooperate with the examination staff to ensure a hassle-free examination process. A uniform dress code ensures all students are treated equally at exam centres.
