Tirumala: TTD Implements Heat Relief Measures for Pilgrims

తిరుమల — IN news

In response to the intense summer heat, TTD has invested approximately two crore rupees to improve facilities for pilgrims visiting Tirumala. This comes as the temple experiences a surge in visitors during the summer months.

Previously, the expectation was that limited accommodation and facilities would strain resources during peak pilgrimage season. However, TTD recognized the need for immediate action to ensure comfort and safety for the influx of devotees.

As a decisive moment, TTD organized shaded shelters stretching from Batagangamma Circle to Gogarbham Dam Circle and along the Outer Ring Road. These enhancements aim to provide respite from the harsh sun.

The direct effects of these measures include increased access to essential services. TTD has arranged mobile water drums throughout the area, ensuring that pilgrims have access to drinking water during their visit.

Additionally, there are now 16 medical centers available for pilgrims in Tirumala, significantly improving health services during this busy period. This is crucial as many visitors may require assistance due to heat-related issues.

In terms of food services, TTD has made an additional 3.50 lakh laddus available for distribution during the summer rush. This increase aims to meet the heightened demand from pilgrims eager to partake in this traditional offering.

Accommodation policies have also shifted; TTD is prioritizing families with more members while solo pilgrims will not be allocated rooms. This change reflects an effort to accommodate larger groups effectively.

Furthermore, 11 mini Kalyana Kattas are set up across various rest houses, providing additional facilities for those waiting in queues. The focus on enhancing amenities demonstrates TTD’s commitment to improving pilgrim experiences.

A total of 1,152 barbers—including 269 women—are available to serve pilgrims, ensuring that grooming services are readily accessible. This aspect of pilgrim services is often overlooked but plays a vital role in visitor satisfaction.

Despite these advancements, Tirumala still faces challenges due to its limited accommodation capacity, which restricts allocation for over 60,000 pilgrims at any given time. Continued efforts will be necessary to manage this demand effectively.

As TTD implements these changes, officials remain hopeful that these facilities will significantly enhance the overall experience for visitors during this bustling season.
